Looks like some of us are still unlucky to be waiting for our AWD, even after booking on 7th Oct Is there anyone here who got their AWD from AnantCars in B'ghatta road?

Congratulations!! I was equally eager for you to get the car because I remember you being keen on disabling the 80/120 alerts That is my only query for your ownership thread.

Good to hear that AMPL/PPS was an amazing experience for you. They are just a 10-minute walk from my home but I had a not-so-pleasant experience when I visited to look at the Thar and for the XUV I chose India Garage instead; maybe a one-off incident. Do keep us posted on the service experience.

To clear your doubt on the last question… The 360 degree camera (onboard) does not record after the vehicle is turned off. So if you’re looking to have this feature you’re better off with a separate dashcam. I was looking for a dashcam with the same feature while I had the xuv500 but all the good ones were nothing less than $200 and none of them available in India. Because I was looking for 1080p, capacitor (for better longevity) and a car battery harness which will allow it to record after the vehicle is turned off.

Now given that XUV7OO in its current state has battery drain issues I am not sure if having a 24x7 dashcam recorder would be wise as it would put more strain.

But a dashcam is absolutely necessary in today’s times. Was driving and a man crossing the road tripped and fell from the median in front of my car a few meters away! Had there been a mishap I could have used the video to show the actual incident.

Can’t upload video to the thread.

Cheers!

My sales adviser at Anant Cars tells me that they have already delivered an AWD. According to him, they have only 4-5 AWD bookings.
I feel I should have done multiple bookings from different dealerships and the crazy algorithm would have picked up one early delivery for me

Emergency - Need Advice. Guys, the car has 130kms on the Odometer. That too before delivery. Should I take it? This is very disappointing.

Really depends on where the nearest dealer stockyard was. Do you know where the vehicle was first dropped and then brought to the dealership location?

More details on this would be useful.

In Tier 2/3 cities, it is possible that the Odo is high without any obvious abuse.

For example, I'm in Bangalore and the car was delivered via truck directly to the dealer's stockyard. On the day of delivery, I did the PDI and it registered 4km on Odo (probably the distance driven out from factory).

During delivery, the Odo stood at 11km and matched the 7km distance from dealer stockyard to the showroom.

You'll need to get some idea about the above two information, check with other customers from the same dealership. If Odo registers similar kms for other cars as well from the dealer then it need not be an anomaly.

I think the M&M strategy is to put more cars on road "across" the country. Not too many from same city. And then therev are other things about colours, chips etc too.

Should be fine - most stock yards are outside the town. The car moves from stock yard to showroom for checks and service center for flashing the software. Obviously if the service station, stock yard and dealer showroom are all closer to each other, this is something to definitely ask questions about.

he he thanks. I haven't crossed 80 yet! The beeps are pleasant as of now - so doesn't even feel like we need to do something. Just disablethe adrenox speed alerts

The stockyard is 7.8kms away from the dealership. Even if they drove it from the stockyard to the dealership, they would have to make 16 such trips within the span of 3 days to reach 130kms on the odo.

I'm now suspecting that the stockyard manager must have driven it or must have allowed someone to take it out on a joyride. But again, this is pure speculation on my part.

Regarding the other cars, I checked and the highest was 96kms on the ODO, while another read 43kms on the ODO. So I don't know what to make of it.

This has been such a downer to what was otherwise shaping up to be an excellent day. Earlier when I went to take delivery of my Creta as well, the ODO was 68 kms while the stockyard was only 11 kms away from the Hyundai dealership, but I digress.

Regarding the high odo reading, when I checked the car's software version by tapping on the settings icon multiple times, the software version and everything was blank. The Sales Executive also told me that they need to flash a host of updates to the car. This has got me thinking -

1. Were the 130 kms, the total accumulated from the testing at the factory as well as the drive from the stockyard to the dealership? I remeber reading a similar post on this thread a while back that while checking in the stockyard, the ODO reading was high but during delivery day, after updates and all, the ODO reading was reset to 0? Can any BHPians help in this regard?

2. However, why does only my car have 130kms on the ODO and not others? Was my car tested more? I doubt that. Maybe it's a combination of testing at the factory as well as some creative testing by the stockyard people.

This right here is a red flag according to me and I'd ask very pressing questions to the dealership. I think you have gathered all the right information needed, at least according to me.

I have a more simpler car, an XUV300, so not sure whether such things exist in a more complex car. But I'd certainly find it strange if there is a process that resets the Odo to 0.

I think in most cases the Odo will be some >0 number during delivery.

You can find out the trip details through Adrenox. Felow BHPian Shai100 posted earlier on this. However, 130 km will cover the distance in the plant and all the other movements, it looks ok to me. Please check if find any other issues. You can refer the post below:

Hope this helps, few screen shots for your reference..

What is the explanation dealer is giving for the 130 Km ODO? I guess XUV will have multiple possible trip meters and the time car being used. Please check that also and see it correlates with ODO reading.

When I took my car it was 58 Km on the Odometer during the PDI at the stockyard. The stockyard is around 15 km from the Showroom, hence when I got the delivery it was around 80km when I got the delivery. 130 Km is a bit unusual from the distance between the stockyard and the showroom that you have mentioned in your posts.

The best thing to do is to check once AdrenoX KYC is done. You will be able to see where and how fast the car was driven. Mine had done a majority of its running inside the Factory Test track and from Factory to its Stockyard in Pune.

There is an option in the adrenox system to check the trips undertaken. Not able to locate the post.
You can check that.
