The price would vary from dealer to dealer but good to know the stock tyres are getting a good buy back price, atleast in your city. Did you get this price from a dealer? I wonder in which vehicle these (stock jimny) tyres would be used by dealers.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Suzuki Jimny sets a new height in sales in Australia, orders still paused on automatic models, five-door on track.

Quote:
The Suzuki Jimny pint-sized four-wheel-drive continues to set sales records even though orders have paused on automatic models until the backlog is cleared.
Quote:
Official data released today by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries shows 748 examples of the Suzuki Jimny were reported as sold last month – May 2023 – beating the previous high of 674 in September 2022.
The result is remarkable given the Suzuki Jimny automatic has not been available to order since the start of this year.

Automatic versions of the Suzuki Jimny three-door have been paused to make way for the incoming Suzuki Jimny five-door due later this year.

Quote:
Even though price and equipment are yet to be announced, the executive said Suzuki dealers are receiving orders and expressions of interest "every day".

Prices for the Suzuki Jimny five-door will be announced closer to local showroom arrivals, while specifications are expected to mirror the three-door model.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Hi friends!
I’ve been with TeamBhp since 2012 when we bought an Ertiga as a family car. Now the kids have moved out and I’ll retire this month. Thought I should indulge myself. Wife wants to stick to her WagonR. Since I’m reasonably physically fit, and will be driving to my village and the mountains myself now, or with my wife (on her weekends) and our little Shih Tzu. Was exploring Kushaq, Scorpio N and now Jimny. My heart was on Kushaq, but wanted a tougher vehicle. Scorpio seems too big, and since it’ll be a long term relationship, will have to think of my knees a few years from now. After much delay finally booked a Jimny AT RED. Time for me to dorn jeans, jackets and colourful t-shirts and drive a red Jimny. My dad had a Willys when I was born. Learnt to drive on a Mahindra DI, my own first vehicle was a 540 DP 4WD. After joining government service first vehicle allotted was a “chauffeur driven” Gypsy 1L. So there’s always a soft corner for 4WD. Haven’t even seen the car yet, leave alone taking a test drive. Hope the waiting isn’t long and hope to remain young at heart always. Will follow this thread eagerly and will always look forward to your advice.

Yes, also here in Chandigarh a dealer offered to exchange the Bridgestone HT stock tyres with Goodyear Wrangler RT/S (Rugged Terrain/Rigid tyres) 215/75/R15 at no additional cost. So wanted to know from the experts about Goodyear Wrangler RT/S performance - if anyone has used them ? Below is the link

Considering Suzuki's production capacity globally, I think they are creating artificial waiting periods so that customers get the feel of premium and niche product

Do you have the numbers for Australia and SA. I am sure number of Jimny sold there is minuscule

Thanks for sharing. Seems like last 3 years have seen good growth. Still the numbers are too low to explain the waiting period. It is a deliberate attempt to create the hype

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Does anyone in Dehradun know when we can see/test drive the Jimny here. I called up Nexa Rohan Motors here and they were very vague about it - 'within this month' is what they said.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny prices to be announced tomorrow

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is one of the most anticipated launches of 2023. We've seen the car, driven it and soon Maruti will announce the prices. It will be officially launched tomorrow.

The Maruti Jimny will be offered in two variants: Alpha and Zeta. The carmaker is said to have secured over 30,000 bookings already.

The Jimny is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 103 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 134.2 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. Customers can choose from a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission, while Suzuki's AllGrip Pro all-wheel drive system is offered as standard.

The Jimny's main rival will be the Mahindra Thar. However, Mahindra does offer the Thar with multiple powertrain options, including a diesel. It is also available in a rear-wheel drive configuration.

Here's the latest one doing the rounds now. Hope this is as close as it can get to the actual pricing reveal tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Header inadvertently mentions Sigma instead of Zeta.Maruti Jimny Review-img20230606wa0013.jpg

I don't have even the remotest plans to book or buy, at this moment. But still I don't know why I'm as eager as anyone to know the prices .

As much as I want the automatic, I don't think I can afford one, so going to simply shift back to Alpha manual which was my original booking. Even these speculative price for the alpha AT looking insane . DEAR Maruti for just this once, don't be greedy. Give us this internationally acclaimed off roader at affordable price. Is there any live streaming or any price unveil timing info available?

Biggest pro of jimny is if you don't like a certain aspect of the ride characteristics there are enough aftermarket solutions to make it do what you want it to. I think the offroad aftermarket is going to mature further with a lot of aftermarket goodies entering India. Leading to other niche car manufacturers confidence in the indian market.
Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on which side one is), Supreme Court has put a ban on modifications, until and unless these come from manufacturer and hence listed as such in RC.

The point is modified vehicle owners are getting heavily fined and such reports are increasing.

Well, a more measured approach would have been better for modification businesses such as a governance framework by a body that tells to what level modification is safe.

Of course, if one intends to use Jimny as just a secondary vehicle for off-road etc, that is a separate matter.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

An exciting day lies ahead for Jimny and cricket fans alike! While the official Jimny prices will kick in from today in India, the World Test Championship final will kick off at the Oval, London later in the day. Looking forward to both of these mega events!

If you press the OD button while cruising and switch it off, the gearbox will move to 3rd (3rd is the highest gear the gearbox will engage with OD off).
