Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I am using Joister broadband in Mira Road, Mumbai. During an offer period in June, I subscribed to the 50Mbps unlimited annual plan by paying 5600.

Pretty happy for now.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I am using a local service provider and pay 800 + GST for a 50 MB speed and 300 GB data. The speeds initially were a steady 48 -52 mbps, however it has now come down around 35/40 mbps. Gets the job done for my Netflix and Prime.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I am a happy customer of Jio Fiber from June 1st, 2017. I paid them a refundable deposit of Rs 4500 on May 31st, 2017, and the connection was installed the very next day, as luckily, my apartment complex was one of those chosen for their pilot project in Hyderabad.

I kept my ACT connection for 3 months in parallel because I was not sure how Jio would fare, but based on their consistency, I surrendered my ACT Fiber after using it for 7 years.

I have not paid a penny for the past 15.5 months, and have been enjoying 100 GB free data per month since then. For the past 4 months, my 100 GB quota started getting used up in less than 20 days, so I was getting free top ups of 40 GB soon after submitting a request. I am very happy with their support that is available 24/7. Only once I had a problem that they took 10 hours to solve, but I appreciate them to check if my issue was solved the very next day.

I am now eagerly waiting for their TV and phone connection. They are not sure when those would be provided.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I have been using the ACT Fibernet for quite a few years now. Barring a few issues here and there they are quite reliable and consistent with the speed.

My plan costs me at 1249 inclusive of GST.

Please tell me that is a typo or a corporate deal for your office. If not 19K per month is scary

Re: Mumbai(Goregaon(W)) ISPs?

Any using 'JIO Fiber' in Mumbai, especially around Goregaon(W)?

I am looking to replace the current local cable internet connection with something stable and reliable(NO MTNL please).

Please pour in your suggestions!

Finally, after 13 long years, I am letting go of MTNL broadband. While low maximum bandwidth (3-4 mbps) was an issue, their unexpected downtime with zero customer support was also going over my head!

Went for Airtel Vfibre, opted for 3 months 40MBPS plan initially, will go for a higher plan in future if required. Getting unlimited local voice calls as well in the plan.

Also getting a landline number/cable, an instrument I can use of my own choice.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I now pay Airtel 899+ taxes for 170 GB @ 40Mbps. In addition, I get 30 GB free for all my Airtel postpaid & DTH connections.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I disconnected my MTNL broadband and have switched to YOU Broadband from this month. So far so good. I just wish ISPs increased the FUP limits on their high speed plans. A monthly limit of 250GB on a 200Mbps plan is not right. You tend to use more data when speeds are higher

Why don't you go for 999 plan. Gives 250gb + 1000gb extra + prime membership free. In 100rs extra that's a good deal.

Yes, I've considered that as well. I've recently started using the Amazon Firestick so will upgrade the day I hit my 200GB limit.

I just got a message from Airtel regarding eligibility for Advance rental plans.

Essentially, 15% discount if I pay for 6 months/20% if for one year. On checking further, I saw that the same plan is also available on a monthly basis. So, got that changed:

Old plan: 999+ taxes
200 Gb internet
40 Mbps
Airtel TV
Free local + STD calling

New plan: 899+ taxes
Unlimited internet
40 Mbps

Considering everyone gets free local + STD in their mobile plan and that we've never made a single call via Airtel Landline, I saw no use of it.
