But they don't indicate whether the wires were cut or accessories were installed by plugging into the fuse box, which is the prevalent practice for all electrical accessories, from showroom or aftermarket. Mahindra showrooms themselves used to sell a number of after market accessories which were not Mahindra manufactured, e.g., front Parking sensors. Ofcourse it's also possible that the quality of the installed aftermarket accessories was poor or installation (even if into the fuse box without cutting wires) was sub par which caused the electrical short circuits.
This makes me wonder, what mods did the owner do despite having all the bells and whistles in his car which seems to be AX7 at the least

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

XUV 700 Front Grill Gaps

Friends, I noticed the XUV700 grill has big gaps that could cause puncture of condenser / radiator grill from debris, small stones while driving on highways.

Has anyone thought of preventive measures ? Can we install a net made of non flammable, non-corrosive material just behind the grill, so that air can pass through but anything that can damage the condenser can be prevented?

The official statement from Mahindra says, "Investigators have recorded evidence of the user having fitted after-market illuminated scuff plates and four ambient lighting modules by tampering with the original wiring of the vehicle."

"The additional wiring connections which are not originally engineered have been connected to existing electrical points causing the thermal incident."

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Received an update from Mahindra about E20 fuel compatibility for the petrol XUV7OO. It is not a positive one.

I have asked them about the effects of using E20 in BS6.1 cars (material and performance). Will update here once i receive a response. Overall, it does worry me because the petrol XUV7OO does not have a great FE to begin with. Add to this E20 and it becomes even worse. Switch fully to Shell is an option?

Toyota has similar issues too,

I received mine in Nov'22, for a Jul'22 delivered car.

The docket has (a) your customer code, (b) last six digits of your VIN, and (C) the key code. You can also visit the showroom and check the register personally to make sure that your consignment has really not been received.

You need to make some noise.

One sure way of getting attention is to tweet to Anand Mahindra and narrate your ordeal.

I'm following up with the Customer Care Manager and he has assured that I might get the key by this month end. I'm hoping it to be true.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Just hit 10000 kilometres in my car today. Sending it for service on Saturday. Will post a long term review after the service.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hi All. Need some quick suggestions/thoughts.

My XUV700 went in for its 10000 km service about 4 days ago. Once back from the service I did not use it until today. To my surprise the car did not start in the morning today. I had never faced this battery drain issue before this service.

Could it have been the service in which the silver box flushing happened?

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hi fellow BHP'ians,

So I own the AX7(L) Petrol Variant of the XUV700, and I live in Delhi.

I am getting a very low fuel mileage of around 6 - 6.5 kmpl while driving in the city. Is this normal ? Just got my car serviced at 10000 kms last month, i.e. April.

However BEFORE the service, I used to get around 7.5 - 8 kmpl. Very strange.

Can anyone help with explaining what going on ?

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Finally took delivery of my AX7L D AT on Wednesday. The overall sales experience was very smooth with my dealer VAYALAT Mahindra .The SA was very communicative and timely updates was provided. This experience was diagonally opposite to my earlier booking with another dealership who had allotted my car to someone without my consent. Barring a small hiccup in the form of 360 cam hanging, everything went as per schedule. Hoping that the service experience in the future too will be good.

Can the illuminated scuff plates be installed at the rear door sills too?
My dealer says they can be installed only at the front

Chose the following accessories:

1. Foot step
2. Illuminated scuff plates
Are the illuminated scuff plates installed just at the front or at the rear door sills too?

For performance, I doubt anything can be done, but for compatibility I hope M&M will come up with an upgrade kit for the existing vehicles to meet the E20 fuel.
