I had the relay replacement done on my previous visit to replace the front passenger side power window motor. They just brought it and installed it in a few seconds. When I asked them, they said it was for a recall related issue and that Mahindra was doing it to ensure no issues during startup. I had no idea and still don't know if that's the case. Regarding the noise behind steering column, it was present before and still is, even after relay install.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Query to everyone who has fabric seats :
The rear right seats' seatbelt buckle of my XUV drops down below the seat as the hole is too big.

Ever since new, I have been using a strong tag around its neck to pull it back out, but it is very hard for my parents to do so. If the tag slips in, even the tag cannot be pulled out since the hole is too small for a hand. It's ungraceful if someone sees this jugaad.

The service center folks are indifferent and tell me they can't do anything about it.

This seatbelt buckle holder may do the trick, but it's a little too pricey for a small piece of plastic.

A seatbelt buckle extender won't help since the cavity below is the huge amount of space below the seat. Pls suggest.

Someone suggested 3D printing it, which is a good idea actually, but my immediate temporary jugaad is to make a hole on a blunt edged plastic saucer and slice it till the middle.

The service manager showed me that the car has the ECU cover; surprisingly my car from Nov 2021 came with an ECU cover. Looks like the O-ring replacement is for Diesel only. I also got the wiring loom recall addressed today. It took around 45 minutes. Wiring harness in my car was only 2-3mm away from the metal part, and touching each other after installing the cover and the beading. Some cars have a safe distance of several cms between them. The service manager was mentioning that he saw one where the harness was lying over the metal but there was no damages.

This O ring relacement, ECU cover etc - do you see these recalls against your vin on website? I have had zero recalls on my year old 700 and the first and only one was the recent wiring harness recall - dont know if I should be happy about this or if they have missed out on my vin for recalls

2nd gear upshifting issue sorted in my AT XUV700 Diesel

I am sure of what i am reporting back. This was the biggest gripe i had with the XUV700 on how long it held onto 2nd gear when all logic would suggest it should have moved to 3rd...

Now it upshifts at the right time and my FE too has gone up. Feels so much better now

Its weird how its not holding on to 2 gear, that is lockup clutch engaging in the TC and it won't engage till the criteria is met and M&M always tunes its GB for power on tap than for FE. This would be a fundamental change, if at all this has happened !!!

Will wait for others to comment

Try completely removing wireless Apple CarPlay from both the car and the iPhone. I have been a very satisfied used of ‘wired’ Apple CarPlay and high quality download music via Spotify Premium/ Apple Music on iPhone on my Hyundai Creta. Try using only wired connection + downloaded music. Switch off wifi, bluetooth, cellular data to make sure you are in true offline, wired mode.

My car has done about 6000km.

Now the mileage in Bangalore has improved a lot. i used to get like 8.5 in city and now its up to 10.5 in peak traffic... I find it a nice improvement in the drive experience due to this issue as the car always bugged me.

Not sure if others have seen this change yet. Hopefully this is not a one off just for me :-)
I have this very annoying problem and even after specifically complaining to the ASC it is still not fixed after the latest Updates. Will see if I can visit again and try, this 2-3 Shifting delay is getting more and more pronounced.
It's got to a point where I feel my wife's AMT i10 nios is better.

As far as I know, not all recalls are made visible on website, but only visible to ASCs. In my case, no recalls other than the recent wiring loom one was visible on the website but was visible for ASC.

I am really not sure if any of the other things i did aided, experts here can comment...

- i moved from regular diesel to indian oil extra green fuel. This made the engine smoother to drive after 3 tank full's of XtraGreen and the engine noise level reduced
- The Service manager informed me that he cleaned my filters as they were dirty (5000km done on ODO). I got back the car from service and it was immediately noticeable the improvement in downshifting from 2 to 3rd gear.

Hope this helps and some experts can add to it. Overall i am thrilled that this issue is sorted in my car.

I think this is the starter relay recall specific cars have. Its a Rs.50 part I am told and for someone I know took 3 months for it to arrive @abirnale also mentions this in his ownership thread - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-...ml#post5563885

I was under the impression that high octane petrol is better both for mileage and longevity of the direct injection turbocharged engines but that doesn’t seem to be the case in this video. Tried to find out the exact compression ratio and fuel recommendation for mStallion but didn’t get anything. This is utterly confusing.

I am consistently getting 20+ kmpl on my XUV700 AX7 L D AT AWD if I fill her up with Shell Diesel. I have observed that twice during the long road trips (1000+ km drive in a single day).

With normal Diesel from HPCL, I am consistently getting 16-18 kmpl. You can check my post here: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/india...ml#post5614120 (What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?)

What speeds do you do ? I too have noticed a slight improvement in FE and also engine notes sound better with Shell Diesel. The price difference now is almost Rs.20/litre which is a little too much I feel

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Experienced the dreaded thud-thud sound from the speakers and both screens conking-off yesterday. Had stopped at a pump to fill up the car. When I got in and shut the door, this happened. Started the ignition, yet no luck with the screens. Tried restarting the car, but still nothing. As I was getting really late for a meeting, didn't have the time to wait. The screens came up almost 10 mins after I started driving. Quite frankly, this is extremely annoying and also appalling to say the least!

This hadn't occurred since the past 6-7 months atleast, so not sure what is the exact reason for it to happen now randomly. Sometimes, the car is butter smooth and without any issues for days altogether and then something crops up which sours the experience.

The XUV 700 was launched in Oct 2021 and is about to complete 2 years since launch, still the spate of niggles continues. Speaks volumes about the lack of QC at Mahindra's end. I had taken delivery of my AX7 P AT in Dec 2021, so my car is from the first batch.

P.s. There's a rattling sound coming from the front passenger side window and I keep getting a feeling it's not shutting completely when rolled-up, considering the kind of outside noise which filters into the cabin. Will get this checked at the next service centre visit; still in two minds about taking the car for the recall, since the Mappls update is buggy for sure. Having to go again and again to the service centre in itself is a big pain!

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I am not sure of how many are there in the group who still use the USB slots for playing audio. I tried using my old IPod via the USB and somehow it is not going through.

I went into settings, selected Ipod, and do not see any action - though I can see my Ipod being connected.

For instance, on my 5OO I could see a screen on my Ipod that says connected to Mahindra, and the same for my Ford Sync.
